Stock futures trended flat to mildly higher two and a half hours before the opening bell. Dow futures up 16 points, Nasdaq futures up 2 points, S&P futures up 3 points. Asian markets were mostly lower in their sessions overnight.

What About The Asian And European Markets?
Major Asian markets ended mixed Japan (Nikkei 225) up 0.14%, Shanghai down 1.46%, Hong Kong (Hang Seng) down 2.47%.
Major European markets closed modestly higher. German (DAX) up 0.22%, France CAC 40 down 0.03%, London FTSE 100 up 0.22%.
Market And Sector Dynamics
Stocks opened flat on Friday as the markets looked for some direction after two days of nice gains. The Dow was up 72 points, Nasdaq down 8 points, and S&P up 7 points. WTI crude oil fell 2.38% to $109.67/barrel at the start of trading, and the US 10 Year Bond Yield was up to 2.385%, a gain of 4.40 basis points.
Today's market tone was mostly positive in an otherwise volatile session. The Dow was up more than 225 points at the high, in the morning session, before it headed lower around 11:30 AM., Dow down 71 points. Stocks remained close to the flat line during the early afternoon session, then was in an out of positive territory in the final hour of trading.
Nine of the eleven S&P sectors ended with gains today, led by Energy, Utilities, Financials, Real Estate, Basic Materials, Consumer Staples, Industrials, Healthcare, and Communication Services. Consumer Discretionary and Technology were modestly lower.
Factors Influencing Today's Market
March Consumer Sentiment came in at 57.4 vs the 59.7 estimated.
US 10 Year Bond Yield ended the day at 2.488%, up 4.98%.
Asian and European markets were mixed.
WTI crude oil ended today's trading at $113.90/barrel, up 1.39%.
This week's Baker Hughes Oil Rig count rose by 7 to 531 total.
Market Close Volume Traded And Advance Decline Ratio
US equity markets closed mixed today. The Dow gained 153.30 points, Nasdaq lost 22.64 points, and S&P gained 22.90 points. Total NYSE volume traded was a light 4.29 billion shares. Advancing shares and Declining shares were even.
