Stock futures were mildly negative at this hour. Dow future was down 58 points, Nasdaq down 66 points, and the S&P down 15 points. Asian markets were mostly lower in their session.

What About The Asian And European Markets?

Major Asian markets ended mixed Japan (Nikkei 225) up 0.45%, Shanghai down 0.34%, Hong Kong (Hang Seng) up 0.11%.


Major European markets closed mixed. German (DAX) down 0.45%, France CAC 40 down 0.23%, London FTSE 100 up 0.63%.

Market And Sector Dynamics

Stocks opened modestly lower across the board with the Dow down 57.11 points, Nasdaq down 81 points, and S&P fell 14.32 points. WTI crude oil was unchanged at $110.49/barrel, and the US 10 Year Bond Yield was down 2.2 basis points to 2.913%.


Markets remained in negative territory for the entire morning as the buyer's strike continued for stocks. Markets turned positive in the afternoon session, but could not hold on to those gains.


Seven of the eleven S&P sectors ended the day with losses, led by Consumer Discretionary, Technology, Real Estate, Financial, Communication Services, Basic Materials, and Industrials. Energy, Healthcare, Consumer Staples, and Utilities ended with gains.

US stocks ended today's session mixed to lower. The Dow gained 26.76 points, Nasdaq fell 142.21 points, and S&P fell 15.88 points. Total NYSE volume traded was a light 4.44 billion shares. Advancing and Declining shares were mostly even.
