US stock futures were mixed before the official start of trading. Dow futures were down 287 points, Nasdaq futures up 81 points, and S&P futures up 54 points. Major Asian markets were mixed, overnight.

What About The Asian And European Markets?
Major Asian markets ended today mixed. Japan (Nikkei 225) up 0.19%, Shanghai up 0.32%, Hong Kong (Hang Seng) down 0.24%.
Major European markets ended with losses today. German (DAX) fell 0.73%, France CAC 40 down 1.39%, London FTSE 100 down 0.42%.
Market And Sector Dynamics
Markets opened the trading session lower, with the Dow down 471 points, Nasdaq down 90 points, and S&P down 48 points. WTI crude oil started the day off at $95.16/barrel, up 3.9%, and the US 10 Year Bond ended the day at 1.887%, down 9.7 basis points.
Stocks traded below the flat line in a volatile trading session. Intraday, the Dow down swung more than 500 points in either direction, as investors focused on the Russia Ukraine situation, including potential negotiation of a cease-fire which took place today on the Belarus border.
Six of eleven S&P sectors ended the session with losses, led by Real Estate, Financials, Consumer Staples, Basic Materials, Healthcare, and Technology. Energy, Industrials, Consumer Discretionary, and Utilities.
Factors Influencing Today's Market
Geopolitical events were again the key to today's market action, as the Russia Ukraine war continues, even as ceasefire talks were held to try to stop hostilities.
Major Asian and European markets ended today lower.
US 10 Year Bond Yield ended the day at 1.840%, down 2.82%.
WTI crude oil closed at $95.95/barrel, down 0.85%.
Market Close Volume Traded And Advance Decline Ratio
Markets were mixed at the end of today's trading session. The Dow was down 166.15 points, Nasdaq gained 56.78 points, and the S&P lost 10.71 points. Total NYSE volume traded a moderately heavy 6.09 billion shares. Declining shares outpaced Advancing shares by1.15:1.
