Stock index futures are mixed at this hour, ahead of the start of trading. The Dow futures fell 147 points, Nasdaq down 31 points, and S&P futures are down 11 points. Asian markets ended mixed.

WTI crude oil futures at $73.53/barrel, down 1.38%.
On the Earnings Calendar:
Third quarter earnings season kicks off tomorrow, with JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs, reporting before the opening bell tomorrow morning.

What About The Asian And European Markets?
Major Asian markets ended their session higher. Japan (Nikkei 225) up 2.25%, Shanghai up 0.67%, Hong Kong (Hang Seng) up 0.50%.
Major European markets ended higher. German (DAX) up 0.65%, France CAC 40 up 0.46%, London FTSE 100 up 0.05%.
Market And Sector Dynamics
As was indicated by the futures, markets started off the day mixed. The Dow lost 129 points, Nasdaq rose 49 points, and the S&P was down 6 points. WTI crude oil was also lower at $73.34/barrel, and the US 10 Year Bond remained subdued at 1.343%.
The Dow turned higher shortly after the opening bell, and remained comfortably in positive territory for entire session.
In today's rally, nine of the eleven S&P sectors ended the session with gains, led by Financials, Communication Services, Real Estate, Consumer Discretionary, Utilities, Basic Materials, Healthcare, Industrials, and Technology. Consumer Staples, and Energy, ended mildly lower.
Factors Influencing Today's Market
Investors are quietly anticipating the start of Third Quarter Earnings season tomorrow.
Asian and European markets closed their sessions with gains.
US 10 Year Bond closed at 1.368%, up 0.38%.
WTI crude oil closed at $74.10/barrel, down 0.62%.
Market Close Volume Traded And Advance Decline Ratio
At the end of trading, all three indexes ended the session at record new highs. The Dow gained 126.02 points, Nasdaq gained 31.32 points, and the S&P gained 15.08 points. Total NYSE volume traded, a light 3.43 billion shares. Advancing shares outpaced Declining shares by 1.37:1.
